About the role#
As a Research & Development Intern at Viaflex, you will gain hands-on experience in the manufacturing industry. You will work alongside engineers and researchers to develop and test new materials and processes. This role focuses on experimental design, data collection, and identifying improvements to current manufacturing methods.
What you'll do#
- Assist in designing and executing experiments for new materials, processes, or technologies.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and test process improvements.
- Evaluate existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for efficiency.
- Prepare and present data reports on key findings and trends.
- Complete assigned projects and provide periodic updates to managers and peers.
- Participate in company-sponsored training, events, and educational seminars.
- Promote the division quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.
- Complete a summer end internship presentation.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry, or Physics, or pursuing a graduate degree in a related field.
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at once.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to identify waste.
- Capacity to communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

- This is a paid, full-time internship.
