About the role#
In this internship, you will gain hands-on experience in developing and testing new manufacturing processes and materials. You will assist with experimental design, data collection, and analysis to improve efficiency and product quality. You will work closely with experienced engineers and researchers to gain insight into the manufacturing industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist in designing and executing experiments to test new materials, processes, or technologies.
- Collaborate with engineers and researchers to develop and test process improvements.
- Support the evaluation of current manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present data reports on findings and trends.
- Complete assigned projects and provide periodic updates to managers and peers.
- Attend Viaflex sponsored training, events, and educational seminars.
- Learn and promote the division quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.
- Complete a summer end internship presentation.
- Demonstrate Viaflex Team Member Values in daily actions.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor degree in engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry, or Physics, or pursuing a graduate degree in a related field.
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and an eye for identifying waste.
- Capacity to multitask and remain flexible.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
