About the role#
As a Funeral Director Intern, you work as part of our team to support families during difficult times. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Sheboygan and Oostburg, Wisconsin. You will handle the details of funeral and memorial services while building connections within the local community through events and organizational involvement.
What you'll do#
- Arrange and conduct funeral and memorial ceremonies with professional care.
- Manage the removal and transfer of the deceased.
- Prepare the deceased through embalming, cosmetology, hairstyling, dressing, and casketing.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Follow all professional, state, and federal regulations regarding funeral services.
- Represent the company at community events and charitable activities.
What you'll need#
- A degree from an accredited Mortuary Science program and any additional college credits required by the state.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency with MS Office and social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Strong organizational and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- A commitment to serving families with compassion, patience, and professional accountability.
- You must complete the National Board Examination and the applicable State Board Examination following your internship.
- You must obtain valid Funeral Director or Embalmer state licensure after the internship concludes.
