About the role#
This 10-week summer internship program at Verition Fund Management LLC places you within a technology team to gain exposure to the operations of a global multi-strategy hedge fund. You will work alongside portfolio managers and analysts while participating in a firm-wide view of business functions. The program includes a speaker series with firm leaders and various professional development and social events.
What you'll do#
- Work with a technology team on tasks including data ingestion, high-performance processing, modelling, portfolio and risk management, live execution, and post-trade analysis.
- Contribute to strategic projects that go beyond your daily team responsibilities.
- Compete in a trading simulation with the full intern class to build knowledge of financial markets.
- Present your work and ideas to senior leaders at various points during the summer.
- Collaborate with a dedicated mentor group to form internal connections.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or PhD in computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, business, or a related STEM field.
- Proficiency in Python, or knowledge of C++ or Java.
- Experience with machine learning and AI applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Intellectual curiosity, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
- Analytical and critical thinking abilities, along with an interest in financial services.
