About the role#
The Sustainability team is seeking a graduate student to join for the summer of 2026. This role offers hands-on experience in executing sustainability strategies across a diverse real estate and healthcare portfolio. You will collaborate with internal teams to drive environmental goals, improve data analytics, and support the communication of company impact.
What you'll do#
- Track and analyze environmental metrics including energy, emissions, waste, and water usage.
- Evaluate new technologies and products designed to improve efficiency or reduce emissions.
- Prepare materials for external sustainability reporting and disclosures, such as GRESB, TCFD, and the Corporate Sustainability Report.
- Create presentations for senior leadership regarding sustainability initiatives.
- Research evolving sustainability frameworks, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate sustainability priorities into operations, investments, and property management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a graduate-level program (MBA, Master’s, or equivalent) with a focus on Sustainability, Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Environmental Engineering.
- 3-5 years of prior full-time professional experience in corporate sustainability, consulting, finance, real estate, or operations.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with data visualization or sustainability tools, such as Power BI or Tableau, is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical data for business audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a collaborative environment.

- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2026 (Full-time).
- Work Modality: Hybrid (3 days per week in-office).
- Compensation: This is a paid position at $35.00 per hour.
