About the role#
Varda Space Industries is hiring for a Structures Engineering Internship. You will join the Structures Team to assist in the design, construction, and testing of mechanical elements for spacecraft and ground support equipment. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in El Segundo, California. Internships are available for Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Trade new design concepts using first-principles and physics-driven approaches.
- Generate CAD models and engineering drawings for flight and ground hardware.
- Build and test development and flight hardware.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program.
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a similar field.
- Demonstrated ability to solve engineering challenges through technical projects, such as personal projects, previous internships, or club involvement.
- Experience with CAD software, finite element analysis, and machining.
- Proficiency in Python or other engineering programming languages.
- Familiarity with GD&T concepts.
