About the role#
The Vehicle Integration & Test team handles assembly, integration, and verification for our spacecraft and reentry systems. As an intern, you will bridge the gap between design and flight. You will gain hands-on experience with flight hardware, test operations, and real-time problem solving. You will work on a collaborative team and learn from experienced aerospace professionals. This role is for students looking to grow technically while working on projects critical to company success.
What you'll do#
- Own or contribute to hardware and software design for spacecraft or payloads.
- Develop and support system test campaigns, including performing necessary analysis for verification.
- Generate procedures to build and test spacecraft.
- Execute and document hardware test campaigns.
- Develop Python-based tools and user interfaces for test operations.
- Support test automation, data collection, and build software utilities to improve workflows.
- Design ground support equipment and develop propulsion test plans.
- Assist with avionics hardware testing, troubleshooting, and spacecraft electrical integration.
- Support propulsion system build and operation, as well as flight hardware upgrades and modifications.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Hands-on experience in an engineering discipline.
- Modeling and assembly CAD experience.
- Ability to work on-site in El Segundo, California.
Location & details#
- Location: El Segundo, California.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May to August).
- Status: Full-time, on-site internship.
- Compensation: $33.00 per hour.
