About the role#
Site Reliability supports the infrastructure, hardware, software, and services across all departments at Varda. The team ensures services run reliably and implements new tools at scale. Interns will assist with team member onboarding, build out new engineering areas, troubleshoot system administration challenges, and implement automation to improve system performance. This is a full-time, on-site role based in El Segundo, California.
What you'll do#
- Deploy and manage services in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters using Argo CD.
- Assist with system patching and maintenance tasks for internal services.
- Upgrade and support Atlassian tooling, including Jira and Confluence.
- Contribute to infrastructure-as-code efforts using Linux-based tooling and scripting.
- Monitor service reliability and automate operations tasks to improve system uptime.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Python programming experience.
- Familiarity with Linux environments.
- Understanding of cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Coursework or experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Ability to work on-site in El Segundo, California.
- Status as a U.S. person as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
Location & details#
- Term: Winter 2027 (January through May).
- Location: El Segundo, California.
- Compensation: $33.00 per hour.
- Additional support: Includes a housing stipend for those relocating and a commuter benefit.
