About the role#
Valard Construction is hiring a Project Coordinator Student for the Distribution Group in Vaughan. This role supports project teams through the full construction lifecycle, from initial planning to final close-out. You will work alongside Project Managers and Construction Managers to help execute electrical utility projects. This position provides hands-on experience in project management and engineering support.
What you'll do#
- Support project teams with planning, permitting, and execution.
- Coordinate permitting and locates by tracking submissions and approvals.
- Manage material planning, including tracking orders, deliveries, and inventory.
- Maintain project trackers, schedules, and documentation to ensure team alignment.
- Coordinate between the office and field crews to help resolve issues.
- Assist with cost and progress tracking and prepare project updates.
- Communicate with utilities, vendors, and subcontractors as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a program such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or construction management.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada for the full duration of the term.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Proficiency with standard computer programs like spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation tools.
- Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with field crews and office staff.
