About the role#
As an Environmental Student, you will work with environmental consultants and recent graduates on projects involving fisheries and wildlife management, site contamination assessments, and regulatory applications. You will interact with municipal and provincial government clients, Indigenous communities, and land developers. This is a full-time, paid position based in Kamloops, BC.
What you'll do#
- Perform field assessments including fish and fish habitat surveys, pre-construction wildlife surveys, and construction monitoring.
- Conduct water quality and soils analysis, hydrometrics environmental impact assessments, and Phase 1 Environmental Site assessments.
- Review and compile environmental database information, analyze data, and summarize field conditions for technical reports.
- Support environmental management planning and overview reporting.
- Conduct fish and wildlife survey/salvage and wetland assessments.
- Prepare environmental permitting applications and coordinate regulatory approvals with local, provincial, and federal agencies.
- Participate in public engagement initiatives.
- Monitor, evaluate, and mitigate project impacts on valued components to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
What you'll need#
- Experience or interest in fisheries and wildlife management.
- Interest in environmental assessment and mitigation development.
- Ability to perform field assessments and review environmental information.
- Ability to analyze data and summarize field conditions.
- Understanding of environmental legislation.
- Ability to support technical writing and field survey standards.

- Compensation: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
