About the role#
The Undergraduate and Graduate Assistant reports to the Department Manager. You will provide administrative support for the Undergraduate and Graduate Offices within the Department of Sociology. This is a full-time, on-site position based at the St. George campus.
What you'll do#
- Act as the first point of contact for student enquiries.
- Provide information regarding program and course requirements.
- Support the administration of programs, including updating web pages and assisting at recruitment events.
- Process applications and check them for completeness.
- Prepare letters, forms, and spreadsheets.
- Coordinate space and resource requirements with stakeholders.
- Maintain records and post information.
- Obtain course materials from instructors and help set up exams.
What you'll need#
- An Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or an equivalent combination of experience.
- At least two years of experience in a post-secondary or similar environment.
- Experience providing administrative support for academic programs and structured processes.
- Familiarity with University of Toronto graduate degree guidelines.
- Proficiency with student information systems like ROSI, ROSI Express, and Degree Explorer.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft 365, specifically Word and Excel.
- Experience generating reports, taking meeting minutes, and using survey tools.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- It is considered an asset if you have experience with web page editing, PowerBI, updating brochures, or knowledge of CUPE Local 3902 Unit 1 and Unit 3.
