    About the role#

    The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of South Florida is hiring up to three student assistants for the Fall 2026 term. This is a paid position for students currently enrolled in Electrical or Computer Engineering programs who hold a Federal Work Study award.

    What you'll do#

    • Greet and direct students and guests.
    • Answer and transfer calls on a multi-line phone system.
    • Sort mail into department mailboxes daily.
    • Perform office and workspace organizational tasks.
    • Maintain electronic files and file physical paperwork.
    • Assist faculty and staff with specific assignments.
    • Run daily errands.
    • Operate office equipment such as copiers and fax machines.

    What you'll need#

    • A current Federal Work Study award for the academic year.
    • Prior experience in an office or customer service setting.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Skills in conflict resolution.
    • High attention to detail and a sense of urgency regarding task completion.
    • Availability to work flexible hours between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

    • Location: Tampa, Florida.
    • Work modality: On-site.
    • Schedule: 10 to 20 hours per week.
    • Pay: $15 per hour.
