About the role#
Prairie View A&M University is hiring a Graduate Research Assistant to conduct original research under the supervision of principal investigators. You will join a research group focused on wireless communications, machine learning, and IoT. This position is part-time and requires on-site work.
What you'll do#
- Develop, implement, and evaluate AI-enabled edge computing and machine learning models.
- Integrate blockchain and trust mechanisms into 5G/6G frameworks for secure, resilient military networks.
- Utilize and expand Firecell 5G/6G standalone testbed experiments to validate performance metrics like latency, throughput, and reliability.
- Mentor undergraduate researchers in your field.
- Write proposals for funding alongside principal investigators.
- Publish research findings in journals and conferences.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team across AI, wireless systems, cybersecurity, and industrial automation.
- Contribute to project reporting, NSF deliverables, and outreach activities.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field.
- A completed Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Current enrollment in a doctoral program, preferably with a specialization in signal processing, 5G/6G, communication systems, or AI.
- Current enrollment at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine graduate semester credit hours.
- Good academic standing with a minimum 2.0 GPA.
