About the role#
The Center for Youth Futures, in partnership with Breakthrough Cincinnati, seeks a Student Associate to support recruitment and enrollment efforts. This role focuses on connecting with students from communities historically underrepresented in higher education. You will act as a representative of the program, helping families understand academic enrichment opportunities and guiding them through the registration process.
What you'll do#
- Conduct outreach to local schools, community organizations, and families.
- Build and maintain relationships with educators, school counselors, and community leaders.
- Support recruitment events, school visits, information sessions, and presentations.
- Explain program benefits, eligibility, and enrollment steps to prospective participants.
- Assist families with application materials and the registration process.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach activities and enrollment progress.
- Enter and update participant data in designated databases.
- Collaborate with staff to identify new recruitment opportunities.
- Perform other program-related tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a secondary or post-secondary institution at least part-time.
- Minimum age of 16.
- Reliable transportation for local travel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills, including email and office software.
- Professional, reliable, and culturally responsive approach.
- Good time management skills.
- Previous experience in youth programs, community outreach, education, or customer service is preferred.
- Experience working with diverse student populations or community organizations is helpful.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with 40% of time in the office.
- Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week, coordinated around your academic schedule.
- Some evening or weekend hours may be required for events and outreach.
- This is a paid position.
