About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring Student Assistants to support the Business Management Section of the Technology Services Division at the Department of State Hospitals. This role provides hands-on experience with IT business operations, including project coordination, procurement, and contract management. You will work alongside IT professionals to learn how technical teams manage workflows, support internal customers, and handle documentation.
What you'll do#
- Manage and update IT operational queues for procurement requests, project ideas, and intake submissions.
- Work with stakeholders to verify documentation for technology requests and project requirements.
- Prepare forms and route documentation to obtain necessary approvals.
- Provide customer support for invoice routing and approval processes.
- Coordinate with accounting, procurement, and technical approvers to ensure workflow continuity.
- Maintain tracking logs and update status records for procurement and invoice activities.
- Create and update tickets, project demands, and work assignments in ServiceNow.
- Participate in the TSD student mentorship program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student in an accredited institution.
- Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least six-semester units or nine-quarter units.
- Graduate students must be enrolled in at least four-semester units or six-quarter units.
- Declared major in Information Technology or Business Technology Management.
- Must reside in California.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Employment Type: Part-time, temporary, non-benefited.
- Schedule: Flexible hours between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
