About the role#
UNHCR is hiring a Protection intern for the Fall 2026 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Montreal, Quebec. You will support the office team with research, reporting, and public outreach efforts.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research on topics relevant to UNHCR, such as asylum laws and border issues.
- Write reports and analyze data.
- Create informational materials for the public and asylum seekers.
- Represent UNHCR at awareness events and participate in information sessions.
- Translate texts between English and French.
- Assist with office logistics, meeting notes, presentations, and website updates.
What you'll need#
- Fluency in written and spoken English. French language skills are a strong asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Capability to work efficiently under deadlines.
- Current enrollment or background in International Relations, Political Science, Sociology, History, or Communications.
