About the role#
Turner Construction Company is hiring a Summer Intern for 2027 in Buffalo, New York. This is a full-time, on-site role. You will work 40 hours per week from May or June through August 2027. This position provides hands-on experience in construction management, project financials, safety protocols, and subcontractor coordination. You will work under supervision to support active construction projects or office-based departments.
What you'll do#
- Support the project team with meeting coordination, material tracking, and document control.
- Assist in the development and lifecycle of construction projects.
- Help prepare estimates for changes in work from subcontractors.
- Attend project site visits to observe and document field activities.
- Assist with project close out preparations.
- Participate in training, meetings, and orientation sessions.
- Help monitor contractor compliance with safety programs.
- Assist with the review of shop drawings, submittals, and requests for information.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an academic program, preferably in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or Operations Management.
- Ability to comprehend and follow project site signage and supervisor instructions.
- Willingness to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Receptive attitude toward learning about construction management practices.
- Ability to apply academic knowledge to practical work activities.
