About the role#
Turner Construction Company is hiring a Safety Intern for the Winter 2027 term in Memphis, Tennessee. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position. You will work under the direction of a supervisor to support safety and loss control efforts on construction projects or within office locations.
What you'll do#
- Help implement the Building L.I.F.E. (Living Injury Free Everyday) safety program.
- Identify and report safety violations or unsafe practices, specifically those involving imminent danger.
- Coordinate safety duties for committees, preplanning meetings, and tool box meetings.
- Review subcontractor safety programs to ensure they meet company policies and compliance standards.
- Maintain essential safety records, including Job Hazard Analyses, OSHA 300 logs, and chemical inventory sheets.
- Conduct jobsite and work area inspections.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program for Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Environmental Engineering.
- Ability to assist with safety program implementation in construction or office environments.
- Understanding of Federal, State, and Local safety regulations.
- Proficiency in administrative tasks related to safety records and compliance documentation.
- Capability to perform jobsite and work area inspections.
