About the role#
Turner Construction Company is hiring a Safety Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Huntsville, Alabama. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position. You will work under the direction of a supervisor to support safety and loss control initiatives at a construction project or office location.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate safety committees, preplanning meetings, and tool box meetings.
- Conduct worker orientation programs for new employees.
- Review subcontractor safety programs to ensure they meet company policies.
- Maintain safety records, including Job Hazard Analyses, training logs, and OSHA 300 logs.
- Administer drug screening programs as required by the company or client.
- Identify and report safety violations or unsafe practices on the jobsite.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program for Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Public Health.
- Understanding of safety protocols and relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ability to help implement the Building L.I.F.E. (Living Injury Free Everyday) program.
- Capability to perform jobsite and work area inspections.
