About the role#
Turner Construction Company is hiring interns for the Winter 2027 term. This is a paid, full-time position based on-site. You will work under supervision to build your knowledge of construction management, including project safety, financial management, quality control, and subcontractor relations. This role is designed to help you apply your academic learning to practical, day-to-day construction activities.
What you'll do#
- Assist with daily project development tasks, including material tracking, file management, and document control.
- Support the project team with meeting coordination and progress reporting.
- Help process shop drawings, submittals, and Requests for Information.
- Prepare estimates for work changes and conduct quantity take-offs.
- Communicate with architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Monitor contractor compliance with safety programs and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Document field activities during site visits.
- Assist with project start-up and close-out preparations.
- Participate in training, meetings, and orientation sessions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited degree program, such as Civil Engineering or Architecture, with at least one year of completed education.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- A clear interest in pursuing a career in construction management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- A proactive, curious approach to learning.
- Ability to work standard business hours and overtime when required.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, such as community involvement or student leadership.
