About the role#
Turner Construction Company offers internship and co-op opportunities for students to build foundational knowledge in construction management. You will work under supervision at active construction sites or within a main office department. This role focuses on learning project financial management, safety protocols, subcontractor relations, and the construction project lifecycle. Assignments are designed to support your academic goals and professional development.
What you'll do#
- Support the project team with document control, file management, material tracking, and meeting coordination.
- Assist in the collection and review of information for processing shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
- Help prepare estimates for changes in work from subcontractors.
- Attend project site visits to document field activities and observe construction processes.
- Assist with project close out preparations and progress reporting.
- Coordinate with project engineers, superintendents, and managers on daily tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration programs.
- Ability to apply academic knowledge to practical work activities.
- Willingness to participate in all required training, orientations, and meetings.
- Ability to follow supervisor instructions and understand project site signage.
- Commitment to safety protocols, including the consistent use of required personal protective equipment.
- A receptive attitude toward learning about construction management and project operations.
