About the role#
Turner Construction Company is hiring an Intern for our Houston office. This role provides hands-on experience with the construction project lifecycle, including financial management, project safety, and subcontractor coordination. You will work under supervision to build foundational knowledge in construction management while applying your academic studies to real projects. This is a paid, full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Support the project team with material tracking, file management, and meeting coordination.
- Help process shop drawings, submittals, and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Prepare and distribute information regarding contract requirements.
- Visit project sites to observe and document field activities.
- Assist with quantity take-offs and studies for project items.
- Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and design teams as directed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Architecture, or Business Administration.
- Ability to apply academic knowledge to practical work tasks.
- A willingness to learn about construction management processes.
- Ability to follow all safety protocols and expectations.
- Must be able to wear required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
