About the role#
Turner Construction Company is hiring an Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Syracuse, New York. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position. You will work 40 hours per week from May or June through August 2027. This role focuses on building foundational knowledge in construction management, project safety, and financial management through supervised day-to-day activities.
What you'll do#
- Support the project team with document control, file management, material tracking, and meeting coordination.
- Assist in collecting and reviewing information for submittals, shop drawings, and Requests for Information.
- Attend site visits to observe and document construction field activities.
- Monitor contractor compliance with safety programs.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and studies for project items.
- Assist with project start-up and close-out tasks.
- Communicate with architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors as directed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Business Administration programs.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- Capacity to understand and follow project site instructions and signage.
- Willingness to learn about construction management and apply academic knowledge to field tasks.
- Commitment to maintaining professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and staff.
- Adherence to all safety protocols, including the use of required personal protective equipment.
