About the role#
Turner Construction Company offers a structured Intern Program for students looking to apply academic knowledge to real-world business scenarios. This Summer 2027 internship focuses on building foundational knowledge in Operational Finance. You will support day-to-day financial management activities and gain exposure to emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and data analytics.
What you'll do#
- Support core accounting functions including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Reconciliation.
- Review billing details and contracts to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with validating project cost coding and verifying subcontractor or vendor account statuses.
- Help monitor project cash flow, including billings, collections, and payments.
- Prepare journal entries to support month-end close and budget analysis.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to use automation and AI for financial workflows.
- Prepare ad hoc analyses and presentations for management.
- Participate in training sessions, meetings, and project site visits.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 2- or 4-year degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Completion of at least 1 year of coursework.
- Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Intermediate Excel skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Teams and SharePoint.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to take direction, ask questions, and follow tasks through to completion.
- Interest in learning how finance supports construction projects.
- Must be 18 years of age to work at a construction project site.
- Willingness to work a standard work week.
