About the role#
This is a paid, full-time summer internship for students interested in construction management. You will work on-site at a project in Memphis, Tennessee, gaining hands-on experience with the project lifecycle. This role is designed to help you apply your academic background to real-world construction activities.
What you'll do#
Your daily tasks will vary based on project needs and your specific assignment. You will assist the project team with document control, material tracking, and meeting coordination. You will also help process shop drawings, submittals, and requests for information.
- Support project start-up and close-out activities.
- Assist with quantity take-offs and cost estimates for changes in work.
- Communicate with architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Monitor site safety and ensure compliance with protocols.
- Attend site visits to observe and document field activities.
- Provide regular progress reports to your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university program, with at least one year of completed coursework.
- Recommended majors include Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
- A clear interest in pursuing a career in construction management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills in English.
- A commitment to working standard business hours and overtime as required.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment.
