About the role#
Turner Construction Company is hiring for a Summer 2027 Construction Intern in Irvine. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship. You will work on-site at an active construction project or in a main office to build foundational knowledge in construction management, project safety, and project coordination.
What you'll do#
- Support the project team with meeting coordination, file management, document control, and material tracking.
- Assist with project start-up activities and close-out preparations.
- Process shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
- Monitor contractor compliance with safety programs and wear appropriate PPE.
- Attend site visits to observe and document field activities.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and studies for project items.
- Communicate with architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to track schedules and distribute proposals.
- Provide progress reports to your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You are currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program, such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
- You have completed at least one year of education.
- You possess clear verbal and written communication skills in English.
- You are organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
- You can work independently and as part of a team.
- You are committed to working standard business hours and overtime as required by your assignment.
