About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in San Antonio, Texas. You will work on-site to gain foundational knowledge in construction management, project safety, and subcontractor relations. This role is designed to help you apply your academic studies to real projects while working under supervision.
What you'll do#
- Assist with daily project activities, including start-up and close-out tasks.
- Support the project team with document control, file management, and material tracking.
- Prepare and distribute contract information, shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
- Monitor contractor compliance with safety protocols and wear required PPE.
- Attend site visits to observe and document field activities.
- Assist with quantity take-offs, studies, and estimate preparation for changes in work.
- Coordinate meetings and communicate with architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Provide progress reports to your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited degree program in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, or Architecture.
- At least one year of completed education or equivalent experience.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive, curious mindset and a desire to learn about the construction industry.
- Ability to work standard business hours and overtime when required.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills through leadership, volunteerism, or community involvement.
