About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Kansas City. You will work on-site to gain foundational knowledge in construction management, project safety, and project coordination. This role is designed to help you apply your academic studies to real-world construction projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with day-to-day project activities, including start-up and close-out tasks.
- Support the project team with document control, material tracking, file management, and meeting coordination.
- Help process shop drawings, submittals, and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Attend site visits to observe and document field activities.
- Assist with quantity take-offs, studies, and preparing estimates for changes in work.
- Communicate with architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors regarding schedules and contract requirements.
- Monitor contractor compliance with safety programs and follow all site safety protocols, including wearing required PPE.
- Provide regular progress reports to your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university degree program, such as Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of completed education and be at least 18 years of age.
- A strong desire to work in construction management.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive, curious mindset with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work standard business hours and overtime as needed.
