About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027 based in Toledo, Ohio. You will work on-site to gain practical experience in construction management, project financial tracking, and safety protocols. The role is designed to help you apply your academic knowledge to real project lifecycles.
What you'll do#
- Support the project team with daily tasks including file management, document control, and material tracking.
- Assist with project start-up and close-out preparations.
- Coordinate meetings and provide regular progress reports to your supervisor.
- Help process shop drawings, submittals, and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Observe and document field activities during site visits.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and studies.
- Request and distribute subcontractor proposals.
- Draft correspondence for Architects, Engineers, and vendors.
- Monitor contractor compliance with safety programs and wear required PPE.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and staff.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university degree program with at least one year of completed education.
- Recommended majors include Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related fields.
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in construction management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
- A proactive, curious mindset with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Commitment to working standard business hours, including overtime as required by your assignment.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills through leadership, volunteer work, or community involvement.
