About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Omaha, Nebraska. You will work on-site to gain hands-on experience in construction management, project safety, and subcontractor coordination. This role is designed to help you apply academic knowledge to real-world construction projects.
What you'll do#
- Support the project team with document control, material tracking, and file management.
- Assist with project start-up activities, shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
- Help prepare estimates for changes in work and quantity take-offs.
- Attend site visits to observe and document field activities.
- Communicate with architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Monitor contractor compliance with safety programs and wear required PPE.
- Assist with project close-out preparations.
- Participate in meetings, training, and site orientations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited degree program, such as Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
- At least one year of completed education or equivalent experience.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- A strong desire to work in the construction industry.
- Ability to work standard business hours and occasional overtime.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive, curious mindset and a willingness to learn.
