About the role#
TRUMPF is seeking a Machine Assembly Intern for our Farmington, Connecticut location. This role provides practical experience to college students, helping to connect classroom concepts with professional manufacturing tasks. You will work on-site for at least 32 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Analyze assembly processes and implement improvements.
- Define assembly standards by creating work instructions and performing time studies.
- Maintain and improve the 5S process within the department.
- Review and implement new department layout plans to streamline supply chains and workflows.
- Use the SAP system to link work instructions to specific production steps.
- Assist the supervisory team in reaching productivity and quality goals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year accredited university or college program.
- Academic background in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Familiarity with MS Word, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, Visio, SolidWorks, and SAP is helpful.
- Knowledge of Toyota Production System and Six Sigma methods is useful but not required.

- Location: Farmington, CT.
- Duration: January 2027 through August 2027.
- Compensation: $18-$26 per hour.
