About the role#
TRUMPF is seeking an Assembly Intern to join our team in Farmington, Connecticut. This position offers practical experience to supplement your university studies, focusing on production systems and assembly operations.
What you'll do#
- Develop concepts to improve a lean production system.
- Study lean, JIT, and Kaizen theory.
- Collaborate as part of a team.
- Run SYNCHRO workshops and events following an initial training period.
- Write assembly documentation.
- Perform time studies on complex assemblies.
- Chart and report on area improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Understanding of modern assembly operations and techniques.
- Knowledge of quality control.
- Good communication skills.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, JIT principles, and Kaizen ideas is helpful.
Location & details#
- Location: Farmington, CT (On-site).
- Term: January 2027 to August 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, at least 32 hours per week.
- Compensation: Paid internship ($18-$26 per hour).
