About the role#
This is a paid internship for students enrolled in a Charter School in the High Desert. You will work with the VVWRA team to gain hands-on experience in financial operations, audit preparation, and budgeting. This role is designed for students in business or accounting pathways who want to apply their classroom learning to real-world tasks.
What you'll do#
- Assist with general ledger reconciliations and prepare audit support documentation.
- Populate budget worksheets and help summarize reimbursable costs for reporting.
- Practice 3-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and confirmations.
- Code transactions and input service entries into accounting systems.
- Attend budget meetings and help organize files for audit trails.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Charter School in the High Desert.
- You must be at least 16 years old and able to obtain a work permit.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- An interest in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance.
Location & details#
- Location: Victorville, California.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 21 to November 13, 2026).
- Schedule: 100 hours total, 2 days per week.
- This position is paid, and college credit is available through a Victor Valley College Work Experience course.
