About the role#
The Audio/Video Production Internship offers students and recent graduates a chance to learn the technical and creative sides of live sports production. You will work with the Broadcast and Media Department for the Toledo Mud Hens and the Toledo Walleye. This role involves training on various in-house and broadcast positions while assisting with day-to-day operations.
What you'll do#
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot broadcasting and in-house systems for Mud Hens and Walleye games, youth sports, and special events.
- Maintain equipment at Fifth Third Field, Huntington Center, and Hensville.
- Complete routine A/V projects to prepare for the season.
- Keep production booths clean and organized.
- Learn to operate production software and hardware.
- Handle other tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Broadcasting, Communications, Sports Management, or a related field. Post-graduates are also welcome to apply.
- Basic knowledge of or experience with in-house and broadcasting systems.
- Proficiency in baseball and hockey.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure.
- Creative thinking to help improve game day presentations.
- Inclusion of at least two professional references on your resume.
- A demo reel showcasing your work is recommended.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Toledo, Ohio, and requires on-site work.
- The role is part-time, averaging 30 hours per week.
- You must be available to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- The job involves physical tasks, such as lifting up to 50 pounds of equipment and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
