About the role#
This is a paid, full-time Structural Engineering internship for Summer 2027. You will work with our Structural Bridge Design Team to support infrastructure projects across the Northeast. This position offers a hybrid work environment and provides opportunities to work alongside industry experts on bridge design, renovation, and inspection tasks.
What you'll do#
- Assist the structural bridge team with the design, construction, and inspection of new bridges.
- Support the renovation and evaluation of existing bridges and structural supports.
- Perform light drafting tasks using AutoCAD.
- Assist with small design assignments under the guidance of experienced engineers.
- Complete various project tasks and field assignments as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s program for Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Coursework or experience in statics, reinforced concrete design, steel design, or foundation design.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire to solve engineering problems.
- Flexibility and a positive attitude.
- Preferred: At least 2 years of completed college-level coursework.
- Preferred: Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or other 3D modeling tools.
- Preferred: Previous internship experience in structural design, construction observation, or consulting.
Location & details#
- Locations: Westwood, MA; Woburn, MA; or Worcester, MA.
- Compensation: $21.00 - $29.00 per hour, based on completed years of college-level education.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
