About the role#
This internship offers an introduction to the off-price retail business model. You will be assigned to either the Planning and Allocation or Buying division. You will gain experience through classroom training and on-the-job tasks designed to show you a long-term career path in Merchandising. This is a full-time, paid summer 2027 program.
What you'll do#
- Analyze sales trends and reports to anticipate consumer buying patterns and product trends.
- Create and implement allocation strategies for stores and e-commerce sites.
- Accompany Buyers on local, virtual, or on-site vendor visits.
- Strategize with Buyers before vendor visits and debrief after the visits.
- Visit stores to analyze our product mix and that of our competitors.
- Resolve merchandise issues with Distribution Centers, Buyers, and vendors.
What you'll need#
- Current Sophomore or Junior status.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel with pivot tables, charts, and v-lookups.
- Ability to think critically and creatively to solve problems.
- A genuine interest in a career in Corporate Retail and Merchandising.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in teams.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Framingham, Massachusetts.
- The position follows a hybrid work model.
- You must have a dependable means of transportation to the office and for travel to area stores or vendors, as the location is not easily accessible by public transportation.
- Work hours may vary based on business needs.
