Summer Intern - Elementary Kids Team Leader

About the role#

The Elementary Kids Team Leader provides leadership and administration for the Children's Summer Sunday program for Grades 1-5. This full-time, 8-week internship focuses on creating engaging experiences that help children develop social skills and grow in their faith. You will report to the Children's Pastor and support the broader NextGen summer events.

What you'll do#

• Plan, organize, and execute Sunday programming for Grades 1-5, including large and small group teaching.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to volunteer teachers.
• Offer administrative support, including curriculum preparation and development.
• Support children with special needs and provide childcare as needed.
• Assist in leading overnight events, including Jr. Youth Premix, Jr. Youth Camp, Sr. Youth Remix, and Sr. Youth Camp.
• Maintain a positive environment for staff, volunteers, and families.

What you'll need#

• A deep and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Experience working with children.
• Minimum 18 years of age with a completed high school education.
• Strong leadership, administrative, interpersonal, and time management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• First Aid/CPR training is preferred.
• Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Alignment with the mission, vision, values, and statement of faith of The Peoples Church.

Location & details#

• Location: Toronto, Ontario (On-site).
• Duration: 8 weeks (July 13, 2026 – August 30, 2026).
• Schedule: 40 hours per week, including Sundays, weekdays, evenings, and overnight camps.
• Compensation: $20 per hour.
