About the role#
The People Concern offers internships for students currently enrolled in Bachelors or Masters programs. You will work within an interdisciplinary team to support clients experiencing chronic homelessness. This role requires a minimum commitment of five months. You will receive support from a preceptor and participate in group supervision.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct client care through individual or group mental health, case management, and crisis support services.
- Assist clients with daily activities, socialization, health maintenance, and recovery progress.
- Participate in weekly field supervision.
- Attend agency and department trainings as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program for Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Public Health, or Education.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and database applications.
- Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills.
- A valid CA Driver’s license if you plan to use your vehicle for internship duties.
- Reliable transportation, such as a bus or metro.
- A keen interest in supporting individuals experiencing chronic homelessness.
Location & details#
- This internship is 100% on-site in Los Angeles, California.
- The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm.
- This is an unpaid, full-time position with rolling start dates.
