About the role#
The Strategy team within the Product Management organization defines, prioritizes, and delivers enhancements to clearing platforms. We operate as an Agile Scrum team, partnering with Engineering, Risk, Operations, and QA to align business needs with regulatory and market requirements. This internship offers exposure to both the tactical execution of product development and the strategic analysis that informs long-term roadmaps.
What you'll do#
- Support the creation and refinement of user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items in Jira.
- Assist in maintaining product documentation, roadmaps, and meeting notes in Confluence.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Help prioritize the product backlog in partnership with Product Owners.
- Conduct research and gather requirements from internal stakeholders.
- Support competitive analysis, market research, and other inputs for product strategy initiatives.
- Track sprint progress, identify blockers, and support reporting on team velocity and delivery metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on product goals.
- Assist in creating presentations or summaries for leadership on product updates and strategic recommendations.
What you'll need#
- Rising senior or second-year graduate student status.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Computer Science.
- Strong interest in product management, financial technology, or capital markets.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodology.
- Basic understanding of or willingness to quickly learn Jira and Confluence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with an ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Prior internship or coursework experience in product management, business analysis, or software development.
- Exposure to financial markets, derivatives, clearing, or post-trade processing.
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or Tableau.
Location & details#
- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (requires working from the office at least 3 days per week).
- Employment: Full-time, paid position.
