About the role#
The Product & Application Security team at The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) is looking for a year-round intern to help secure applications throughout their lifecycle. You will work on an initiative that uses frontier AI models to research, codify, and embed security standards into developer workflows. This role involves engineering work that impacts how developers write code across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Use frontier AI models and LLMs to research, synthesize, and codify secure coding standards.
- Build AI-consumable configuration files to embed security requirements into developer workflows.
- Automate the enforcement of security standards within CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate and test these security standards.
- Assist with vulnerability triage and provide remediation guidance alongside experienced engineers.
What you'll need#
- Status as a rising senior or second-year graduate student, graduating in December 2027 or May/August 2028.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Computer Engineering.
- Basic programming or scripting skills in languages like Python or Bash.
- Familiarity with software development concepts, the SDLC, and version control systems like Git.
- Basic understanding of AI/LLM tools, CI/CD concepts, and security frameworks such as the OWASP Top 10.
- Experience with security tooling, static analysis, code review, APIs, and cloud environments is preferred.
- Experience with prompt engineering or structuring AI-consumable instruction files.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across technical teams.
- A self-starter mindset with strong attention to detail.
Location & details#
- This is a hybrid position based in Dallas, Texas.
- The role is a 12-month, paid internship running from January 2027 through December 2027.
- Interns work up to 20 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer, with a 1,000-hour cap.
- The OCC Hybrid Work Program requires employees to work from the office at least 3 days per week, with Tuesday and Wednesday designated as anchor days.
