About the role#
As a Data Intern, you will join a team responsible for expanding analytics capabilities by making internal corporate data accessible and usable across the organization. You will contribute to the design and maintenance of our internal analytics data warehouse and support the extract, load, and transform processes. This role involves working with both business users and technical teams to facilitate data-driven decision making through the exploration of historical and near real-time data.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards to visualize key business metrics.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to analyze large datasets from multiple sources.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and troubleshoot data issues.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate feature development, test generation, and documentation.
- Contribute to solutions that make internal data accessible and useful for analysts.
What you'll need#
- Status as a rising senior or second-year graduate student, graduating in December 2027 or May/August 2028.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Business Administration.
- Strong foundation in SQL and working knowledge of Python.
- Foundational understanding of distributed systems concepts.
- Knowledge of cloud concepts, specifically AWS.
- Exposure to relational database systems like PostgreSQL.
- Practical curiosity about AI-assisted development tools.
- Ability to stay composed and focused under pressure.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- A team-first mindset.
Location & details#
- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027 (12-week program).
- Work Modality: Hybrid. Employees are expected to work from the office at least 3 days per week, with Tuesday and Wednesday serving as anchor days.
- Status: Full-time (up to 40 hours per week).
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
