About the role#
The Security Intern supports our team with daily administrative and operational tasks to protect employees, visitors, assets, and facilities. This role provides hands-on experience in corporate security, covering access management, documentation, and reporting. You will work approximately 20 hours per week in an office and manufacturing environment, typically between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
What you'll do#
- Support daily security team activities and administrative functions.
- Assist with employee ID badge creation and general access management.
- Create, update, and maintain security documentation, procedures, and reports.
- Collect and analyze data for KPI reporting using Power BI and Microsoft Excel.
- Collaborate with internal teams on visitor management and site security projects.
- Assist with confidentiality and intellectual property protection initiatives.
- Help prepare and deliver security training and new employee orientations.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a college or university with at least three years of coursework completed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant coursework in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Data Science, or Cybersecurity is a plus.

- Location: Richmond, Virginia.
- Pay: $24.51 per hour.
- Work modality: On-site.
- This is a part-time, paid internship with a rolling application process.
