About the role#
This is a full-time Human Resources internship based at our manufacturing facility in Emporia, Kansas. You will work alongside HR teams and plant leadership to support core functions, including hiring, onboarding, talent management, and workforce planning. This program runs during the summer of 2027 and provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Partner with plant leadership to attract, retain, and engage talent.
- Support recruiting for technical and hourly roles by sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates.
- Coordinate local site operations, including employee appreciation events, community relations, visitor management, and internal communications.
- Identify and improve HR processes by streamlining manual tasks.
- Lead or support specific projects to meet business needs.
- Collaborate with diverse teams to ensure daily operations run effectively.
What you'll need#
- Sophomore or junior standing in a degree program.
- Educational background in Human Resources, Operations Management, Psychology, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong time-management, communication, and teamwork skills.
- High attention to detail and knowledge of standard business practices.
- Professionalism and a genuine interest in a career in manufacturing HR.
