About the role#
The Student Engagement Intern supports the application cycle and promotes study abroad programs. You will work 20 hours per week during the 2026-27 academic year. This is a part-time, remote position based in the United States. You will serve as a liaison between students and the Student Engagement team while helping prospective applicants navigate the enrollment process.
What you'll do#
- Learn the IFSA brand and program portfolio to effectively communicate the benefits of study abroad.
- Assist with admissions tasks, including preparing student applications for host universities, processing transcripts, and reviewing course selections.
- Correspond with students via phone, video calls, email, and text to support their application journey.
- Maintain accurate records and data in Salesforce and prepare reports as needed.
- Help enrolled students with pre-departure tasks and forms.
- Create content for communication campaigns and graphics to support advising efforts.
- Model organizational commitments to inclusive excellence and intercultural agility.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Personal international experience through travel, work, or study.
- Experience interacting with cultures different from your own.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- A sales and customer service orientation with an understanding of U.S. college students.
- Experience with Salesforce is preferred.
- Capability to support students from diverse backgrounds, including first-generation, LGBTQIA+, and students of color.
Location & details#
- This is a remote role, though occasional engagement on a local university campus may be requested.
- Compensation is $15 per hour.
- You must be authorized to work in the USA and physically located in the country for the duration of the internship.
- A laptop will be provided for your work.
