About the role#
This internship offers a hands-on experience in the coastal engineering field. You will work with our Ocean and Coastal team in Jacksonville to help protect shorelines and improve waterfront infrastructure. This position runs during the summer of 2027 and is an on-site, full-time role.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineers on project deliverables.
- Manage beach profile data and analyze beach volume changes.
- Perform coastal engineering analyses using industry standards.
- Contribute to the creation of construction plans and technical specifications.
- Observe construction operations and evaluate site conditions.
- Assist with data management, report preparation, and the assembly of documentation for state and federal permit applications.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's program in Civil or Coastal Engineering, or a Master's program in Coastal Engineering.
- Completion of, or current enrollment in, at least one coastal engineering course.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
