About the role#
The Daily Beast is looking for an editorial intern to write for The Looker. This is a full-time, on-site role based in New York. You will work 37.5 hours per week for a three-month period, which may include some evening or weekend shifts. This position is open to undergraduate juniors and seniors, graduate students, and post-grads.
What you'll do#
- Write and report on aesthetics, style, and culture.
- Cover celebrity beauty news and write product reviews.
- Produce plastic surgery explainers and personal essays.
- Handle news curation and write evergreen features.
- Create commerce-adjacent content.
What you'll need#
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated interest in health, wellness, beauty, or lifestyle writing.
- Excellent writing and reporting skills with the ability to balance voice and authority.
- A strong news sense and deep curiosity about topics that impact how people live, feel, and look.
- An understanding of how visuals and video contribute to storytelling.
- Prior experience writing or interning for a publication, blog, or newsletter is preferred.
- Familiarity with digital publishing and content management systems is a plus.
- A degree in a relevant discipline like Communications, Journalism, or English is preferred.
