About the role#
The Christman Company is hiring Assistant Project Engineer Interns for a full-time internship during Summer 2027. This program offers undergraduate students hands-on experience in construction methods and project delivery.
What you'll do#
- Provide administrative and technical support to the project team.
- Manage document control, including RFIs and submittals, while tracking project costs and schedule updates.
- Summarize key decisions and discussions from owner, subcontractor, and project team meetings.
- Review specification books to ensure project quality and compliance.
- Assist the Project Manager with inspection logs, scheduling, and building relationships with inspectors.
- Update contract drawings to reflect approved changes.
- Support Superintendents with daily reports and project photography.
- Maintain safety standards and support logistics for site-specific safety plans.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore, junior, or senior in a bachelor's degree program for civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Previous experience in commercial construction is preferred.
- Leadership or participation in student organizations or extracurricular clubs is preferred.

- This role is based on-site in Lansing, Michigan or Grand Rapids, Michigan.
- This is a paid, full-time summer internship.
