About the role#
As a Research Analyst intern in our International Arbitration practice, you will work alongside senior consultants and experts on project teams. This program allows you to apply economic and financial concepts in a professional services setting while improving your research and data analysis skills. You will gain experience in a collaborative environment where you can explore your professional strengths and interests.
What you'll do#
- Build economic, financial, and operational models in Excel, such as valuation models and cost of capital estimates.
- Create data-based solutions using programming languages like R, Python, Stata, SAS, and VBA.
- Conduct statistical and econometric analysis.
- Perform comprehensive research including market analysis, literature reviews, and document examination.
- Write memos to provide insights and support expert reports.
- Assist in the preparation of expert reports and presentations for legal and regulatory contexts.
- Collaborate with colleagues at all levels to develop solutions for clients.
- Analyze economic impacts and calculate damages in breach of contract disputes.
- Evaluate financial transactions and economic consequences in commercial disputes.
- Assess the economic value of investments in treaty arbitrations.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward an undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as economics, business administration, finance, or mathematics.
- Strong academic performance with a GPA of 3.7 or higher.
- General finance knowledge and an interest in expanding that expertise.
- Great teamwork and leadership skills, as project work is done in teams.
- Intellectual curiosity and a creative approach to problem-solving.
- A high degree of ownership, commitment, and strong communication skills.
