About the role#
The AES Ohio Transmission Engineering team is offering a co-op position for the Fall 2027 term. This full-time role provides exposure to various departments, including Substation Engineering, P&C Engineering, operations, and project management. You will work on-site in Dayton, Ohio.
What you'll do#
- Design high voltage transmission line facilities to support system improvements, reliability projects, and load growth.
- Conduct field visits to verify topography, identify obstacles, and meet with construction crews to discuss engineering concerns.
- Update records to correct discrepancies between prints, schematics, databases, and system models.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a four-year degree program for Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering.
- Sophomore status or higher is preferred.
- A strong academic record.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work well in a team.
- Experience with design software like PLS-CADD or SolidWorks is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, is preferred.
