About the role#
As a Security Operations Technician Intern, you will support SecOps functions within our Information Systems department. You will learn to manage job scheduling, monitor mainframe systems, handle security access requests, and assist with code migrations and system testing. This role is based in Waco, Texas, and requires on-site work.
What you'll do#
- Learn to use software tools, including PC, mainframe, and web applications, to complete your tasks.
- Resolve Helpdesk incidents and requests following established procedures.
- Research software problems and help deploy operational solutions.
- Assist in training end users and communicating with vendors to fix issues.
- Report on the status of your assigned tasks and escalate problems when necessary.
- Manage and monitor production paths, test environments, and security access for data repositories.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing an Associate degree or higher from an accredited school in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Business Administration, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or Operations Management.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to technical challenges.
- Familiarity with personal computers and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform tasks involving sitting, bending, and reaching in an office setting.
